Tarek El Sherbeny

Born in 1995 (Cairo, Egypt). Tarek El Sherbeny is an Award-winning Filmmaker and Berlinale Talents Durban Alumnus. In 2019, He earned his Bachelor's degree in Engineering from The German University in Cairo, then he decided to pursue his passion for cinema. He self-studied the principles of filmmaking and is currently working as an independent writer/director. His debut short film "He's Dead Now" premiered at Film at Lincoln Center in New York City as part of the short films program of the 30th New York African Film Festival. The film went on to be selected at 30 film festivals ,winning 4 Awards.
