Ain't No Time for Women + Papicha
The MENA Film Festival's Womxn in Film Screening follows our successful Instagram story takovers by Womxn artists and filmmakers in Canada and across the diaspora. For the screening, we're featuring two films: Ain't No Time for Women, a short Canada-Tunisia co-production documenting Tunisia's first steps toward post-revolutionary democracy from the vantage of a casual gathering of women at a hairdresser; and Papicha, a feature film first screened at Cannes Film Festival's Un Certain Regard about a young fashion designer who chooses art as her political weapon of choice in Algeria.
Enjoy these films FREE as part of our ongoing Womxn in Film series, running June 4-6, 2021.
